The Insight That Changed the Work
Early in her career inside global retail and technology organizations, Dr. Ilka began noticing a pattern that repeated across industries and leadership teams.
Strategy was rarely the real problem. Leaders were aligned on direction, priorities were defined, and transformation initiatives were launched with urgency. Yet execution consistently stalled once the strategy moved into operations.
Decisions lacked clear ownership. Cross-functional initiatives competed rather than coordinated. Governance varied from project to project. Momentum faded as complexity increased.
What appeared to be isolated issues were, in fact, structural failures.
Dr. Ilka recognized that organizations were not failing because of a weak strategy. They were failing because execution was treated as an activity rather than as infrastructure.
