The Position

The Business Development/Sales Consultant (BD) manages the organization's lead generation and business development efforts to attract new companies within targeted industries. The B.D. is responsible for identifying and nurturing leads, making the business case, and working to position JAG as the top boutique consulting firm in the U.S. This position reports to the President & CEO. This position is remote and intended to be flexible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops goals, objectives, and priorities for the business development and lead generation efforts of the organization in partnership with the CEO and the SVP, Executive Advisor
  • Identify and develop new marketing tools, services, promotion, and strategies that exceed client expectations and retain business
  • Establishes and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship resulting in the highest levels of client and customer satisfaction and account retention, and future business growth plans
  • Manages the Business Development team and directs its activities
  • Develops sales objectives and sales call plans to support annual budgets and business priorities
  • Sets department budget and monitors expenses
  • Meet and exceed sales and profitability objectives
  • Maintains high levels of customer service satisfaction with prospects and partners
  • Generates high-quality leads from companies in targeted industries where the business case will resonate. Works to convert prospects to wins
  • Manages business development project pipeline to include working projects and assigned to the team. Responsible for data entry and analysis
  • Conducts virtual and in-person domestic and international sales missions to targeted markets and participates in tradeshows and conferences. Establishes and coordinates work, including timeframes, budget, and participation of stakeholders
  • Develops and establishes business development policies and procedures and ensures their execution
  • Monitors and evaluates business development metrics and modifies strategies to achieve results
  • Manages the Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) process for companies interested in working with JAG
  • Establishes relationships with industry leaders to gain greater insight into the challenges and opportunities within those industries and seek out ways to participate in related discussions
  • Supports the organization's public relations efforts by introducing companies, setting meetings, and assisting with follow-up
  • Research and prepare sales proposals with innovative and cost-effective ideas according to customer requests and specified needs
  • Assist with customer care issues and provide solutions by working with key internal contacts
  • Act in the best interest of the company by applying stated corporate values and priorities to all communications, decisions, and actions

Qualifications/Skills

  • Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials
  • Minimum ten years of experience selling CRM - existing client base an asset
  • Ability to establish strong client relations at various levels of an organization
  • Proven success in senior Business Development or Marketing role
  • Previous success in strategic planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to create, organize and produce professional sales presentations and quotes
  • Business savvy and an opportunity seeker
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
  • Ability to develop and share innovative approaches and best practices
  • Proven analytical skills with systematic problem solving
  • Demonstrated effective project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a strong team environment
