Home goods, athletic goods, and loungewear are three categories wherein e-commerce brands are seeing record-breaking sales numbers.
In the Homegoods space The Sill, which sells indoor potted plants, has seen online sales shoot up: They’ve experienced a 50% increase in orders compared to pre-pandemic months in 2020.
In the loungewear category, brand - Richer Poorer shared that they sold three times the amount of sweats online in the three weeks following the March shelter-in-place mandate than they had in all of 2019.
Taking this into consideration, brands selling online should really take a look at where they can pivot with the items they have on hand with this sudden shift in consumers' needs and wants.
